Understanding the technology behind DS-Sensors
ElastiSense’s DS-sensors all consist of an extremely strong, durable and very efficient stretch sensor. The sensor is fully encapsulated in high grade silicone rubber with embedded electronics, and this makes it extremely durable and resistant to external influences, such as rain, snow, dust, heat, cold, dirt or other environment and weather-related obstacles.
The stretch sensor technology combined with the silicone rubber encapsulation makes the DS-sensors fully bendable in all directions as well as tolerant to over-stroke and considerable misalignment.
The technology is exclusively unique for ElastiSense products and it provides an efficient and optimal alternative to non-contact sensors or cylinder-based sensors.
Keeping it simple and cost-efficient
Compared to other sensor technologies, costs of installation, operation, and need for maintenance are substantially reduced, using DS-sensor solutions. These sensors do not require specialized mounting, further protection or frequent cleaning – at all!
We have kept it simple. You mount the sensor to your application with two screws, plug in the cable from the embedded electronics and connect to your control system in your application – and you are good to go.
It does not get much easier than that!
